Bay Area Cancer Connections supports people touched by breast and ovarian cancer. They offer an array of services including support groups, counseling and educational seminars as well as practical care such as wigs and prostheses, complementary therapies and free screenings to low-income, uninsured women and men under the age of 40.

Breast Cancer Emergency Fund (BCEF) provides emergency financial assistance to low-income women with breast cancer in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Financial assistance includes help with medical expenses, including co-pays, insurance/COBRA payments, prescriptions and emergency dental care as well as essential utilities and housing expenses.

IMPACT provides free prostate cancer treatment to Californian men with little or no health insurance. The program only covers approved prostate cancer treatments. They can help prostate cancer patients find a doctor or hospital where they can receive treatment and provide counseling to prostate cancer patients and their families. In order to qualify, a patient must be diagnosed with prostate cancer and be of low-income with no insurance or limited-coverage insurance.

Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance offers advocacy, education and financial assistance to families of children with cancer who live in northern California or are there for cancer treatment. To qualify for financial assistance, patients must be referred by a social worker at one of the area hospitals served by the organization. The financial assistance can be used for any needs the family has.
